Mandy grew up in the Southern West Virginia town of Lewisburg where passing the time meant riding her bicycle, drawing, and playing with her family's animals. Her current work is informed by her early years by imagining common creatures with childlike features. She always had an affinity for the arts, participating in dance, piano, and theater.  She graduated with a BFA in Ceramics from West Virginia University in 2013.  While at WVU she focused on handbuilding and sculpture.  After she graduated, she worked as an apprentice in Morgantown, WV.  During her apprenticeship she focused on throwing and gained technical skills as a potter.  She taught beginner wheel throwing, handbuilding, and children's classes. She also participated in pottery sales, assisted in firing kilns, making glazes, etc.  Mandy moved to Pittsburgh, PA shortly after where she worked as a studio potter and taught private wheel lessons. She moved to Buffalo, New York in the summer of 2015 and has a studio on Lafayette Ave. where she continues to create daily.  She is interested in growing as a ceramic artist and developing new skills and creative ideas.
